Review: Chipotle Mexican Grill

on

Since my family has gotten home from our trip to Canada, we have eaten at Chipotle twice! Though I have had a love-hate relationship with Chipotle throughout my life, for the meantime it stands as one of my favorite restaurants.

Over the years, Chipotle has consciously been trying to make their food more “real”. This meaning healthier for our bodies, and healthier for our planet. As their website states, they focus on using “no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives” and organic produce and ingredients. Not only have they made their food better for those consuming it and for the environment, but they have also created new menu items in the process! These new items include their new Quesadillas, Lifestyle Bowls and Salads. They have also been conscious of special diets such as keto, vegetarian, and vegan.

After much experimentation at Chipotle, I finally found a meal that has become my go-to order. I order three hard tacos with chicken, white rice, and black beans as a base. Then, I include the fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, light cheese, and romaine lettuce.

My family and I typically order takeout, so when my food comes the tacos are partially soggy and almost impossible to grasp. Surprisingly, I actually like it like that. I tend to mix up the tacos so that the shells have broken into small pieces and I can grab it all together with my fork. I think if you ate the tacos in-store you would not have this experience, and that the tacos might be more in-tact. But overall, I find that all the ingredients incorporated taste good together. This is another thing that I believe Chipotle does quite nicely. All ingredients available compliment each other, no matter what combination you choose.
