Review: Millburn Deli

Close to a week ago, a few friends and I decided to get together and have a pool day. After we swam, the friend who was hosting the pool day suggested that we order-in on Door Dash, and that we order from a popular sandwich joint called the Millburn Deli in Short Hills. After looking through their menu to see what I thought I might like, I settled on the conclusion that everything looked amazing and extremely appetizing. But, I decided to play it slightly safe, and order a classic BLT.

The BLT included its standard ingredients: bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a little bit of mayo. But I also chose to add in some avocado slices. On the side, I ordered chipotle mayo sauce. First off, I found that even after going through the delivery process, the sandwich still tasted delicious. The tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado slices tasted fresh, and the bacon was layered on thick and crispy. The bread was also perfectly toasted. It tasted so fresh and authentic, and I was genuinely impressed. But if I’m being completely honest, the real star of the show in my opinion was the chipotle mayo. The mayo was spicy, but not too spicy. Creamy, but not too creamy. And on an unrelated note, it had a beautiful color to it as well. Overall, the BLT tasted like a classic BLT. But I found that the addition of the avocado really gave it a more casual feel and taste, while also keeping it fresh. Dipping it in the chipotle mayo gave it a really elevated flavor, and was made it honestly perfect as a post-swimming meal.

Millburn Deli is really a very unique sandwich joint. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, all with unusual flavors and combinations. But they also make sure to include more basic options as well. A popular item that I now wish I had tried is the Godfadda. It’s a sandwich including a chicken cutlet, bacon, sliced fresh mozzarella, Russian dressing, all on a pressed Sub roll.
